Booking terms
The important things — explained in a slightly more human way.
We’re glad you’re coming to stay with us.
A vacation should be enjoyable — not start with twelve pages of legal jargon. That’s why we’ve translated the most important rules regarding your booking into language that anyone can understand, even without a law degree. Behind these clear guidelines, the General Terms and Conditions for the Hotel Industry (AGBH 2006) apply in their currently agreed-upon version. Where individual agreements are made in your booking confirmation, those take precedence.
In short: fair for you, fair for us — and then we can focus again on the joy of life.
1. When is your reservation confirmed?
As soon as we’ve accepted and confirmed your booking, our reservation is final. Your room is reserved for you, and we look forward to welcoming you. If a deposit was agreed upon for your booking, we’ll let you know in advance.
- An agreed-upon deposit is part of the total price — not an extra charge.
- According to the General Terms and Conditions, an agreed-upon deposit must generally be received by us no later than 7 days before your stay.
- For credit and debit cards, the terms and conditions of the respective card issuer also apply.
2. Arrive, take off your shoes, start your vacation
Unless we’ve agreed otherwise with you, your room will be ready for you starting at 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, we ask that you vacate the room by 10:00 a.m. We know that saying goodbye is hard. If you’d like to stay longer, just ask us — if occupancy allows, we’ll be happy to find a solution.
If a room is first used before 6:00 a.m., the previous night counts as the first night’s stay according to the General Terms and Conditions. In the event of a significantly delayed departure, an additional day may be charged.
3. Plans change — our cancellation policy
Sometimes life gets in the way. We understand that. At the same time, we’re committed to keeping your room reserved for you. Unless your booking confirmation specifies different cancellation terms, the following rules apply in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions (AGBH):
| When you cancel | Cancellation fee |
|---|---|
| Up to 3 months before arrival | None |
| 3 months to 1 month before arrival | 40 % of the total package price |
| 1 month to 1 week before arrival | 70 % of the total package price |
| During the last week before arrival | 90 % of the total package price |
If you are unable to arrive at all due to unforeseeable extraordinary circumstances — such as extreme snowfall or flooding — the General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation (AGBH) provide for special rules. As soon as arrival is possible again, the obligation to pay for the booked stay may resume.
4. If you arrive later
If you will not arrive until after 6:00 p.m., please let us know briefly. Without an agreed-upon later arrival and without corresponding security in the form of a deposit, the AGBH stipulates that the obligation to provide accommodation may lapse as of 6:00 p.m. With an agreed-upon deposit, the reservation remains valid longer in accordance with the AGBH.
5. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong
Even hotels aren’t immune to surprises. If your booked room is unavailable for a valid reason, we may, in accordance with the Austrian General Terms and Conditions for Accommodation (AGBH), offer you reasonable alternative accommodations of the same quality. If this results in additional costs for the alternative accommodations, we will cover them.
6. What you may use at our hotel
With your booking, you may use your room and those hotel facilities that are typically available to guests without any special conditions. Separate prices or rules may apply to certain additional services.
And yes: We want you to feel at home with us. Just please don’t get so comfortable that you end up adopting the bathrobes.
7. Bill & damages — the less romantic part
The agreed-upon room rate and any additional services consumed must be paid no later than upon checkout. If you, your traveling companions, or persons for whom you are responsible damage anything, compensation may be required. However, we assume that in most cases we’ve written this paragraph for nothing.
8. Valuables
The statutory liability rules and the liability provisions of the General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation (AGBH) apply to items brought onto the premises. Special liability limits and storage rules apply to cash, securities, and valuables. If you have something particularly valuable with you, please speak with us — together we’ll find the safest place for it.
9. Four-legged vacation companions
Pets are permitted only with the hotel’s prior consent and, if applicable, for an additional fee. If your pet is traveling with you, you are responsible for supervising it and are liable for any damage it causes. In accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of the Austrian Hotel Industry (AGBH), appropriate liability insurance coverage is also required.
Pets are not permitted in the restaurant, common, or wellness areas according to the General Terms and Conditions. Even if your dog is convinced that he desperately needs a massage.
10. Want to extend your stay by a few days?
We’d be happy to — if we have room. However, there is no automatic right to an extension. Please let us know as early as possible, and we’ll see what we can do.
If departure is actually impossible due to extraordinary circumstances such as extreme snowfall or flooding, the General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation (AGBH) provide for an automatic extension for the duration of the impossibility; the payment provisions set forth therein apply.
11. Early departure
If you depart earlier than booked, the agreed-upon price may generally still be due under the General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation (AGBH). Any savings on expenses or income from potential re-rental will be taken into account according to the rules set forth therein.
12. Consideration is part of the joy of life
We want all guests to have a good time. In the event of significantly disruptive use of the premises, grossly inappropriate or inconsiderate behavior, criminal acts against property or physical safety, or unpaid invoices due, the lodging agreement may be terminated early for good cause.
In plain language: Be kind to people, to the property, and to the items inside — then we’ll never have to discuss this point again.
13. If you become ill
If you become ill during your stay, we will assist you in arranging medical care upon request. In cases of imminent danger, we will arrange for necessary assistance even if you are currently unable to do so yourself. The General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation (AGBH) also specify which costs incurred as a result may be borne by the guest.
14. Force majeure
There are situations beyond both your and our control — natural disasters, government actions, or other cases of force majeure. If these circumstances make it impossible to fulfill the contract, the relevant statutory provisions and the provisions of the General Terms and Conditions of Business (AGBH) shall apply.
15. Which law applies?
Austrian law applies to the lodging contract. The rules governing jurisdiction are those provided for by law and in the General Terms and Conditions for Accommodation (AGBH); special protective provisions apply to consumers.
16. The fine print on the fine print
This version is intended to explain the essential rules in a clear and accessible manner. It is not a complete reproduction of all 18 sections of the AGBH 2006. For topics that are summarized here or not explicitly mentioned — such as deadlines, set-off, specific liability issues, or other detailed provisions — the AGBH 2006 and the statutory provisions apply.
Important: Individual terms in your reservation or booking confirmation — particularly prices, payment terms, cancellation policies, or arrival conditions — may differ from these general rules and, in such cases, take precedence.
And now, enough of the fine print.
We look forward to welcoming you. To wonderful days, good food, exercise, relaxation — and plenty of joy in life.
